Social Activity Brief

Within the past 30 days, this project has maintained a consistent level of social media activity for the majority of the month. However, there was a noticeable decrease in social media engagement towards the middle of the month, which lasted for a few days before returning to the previous level of activity. Overall, the project's social media engagement appears to be stable with some minor fluctuations.

About Zeedz

Zeedz is the first play-for-purpose game ever created. It’s specifically designed to raise awareness, generate financial contributions and build a community around the issue of global warming and climate change. In Zeedz, players reduce carbon emissions by collecting blockchain-based plant-inspired creatures that grow with the real-world weather. The financial contributions created by players directly go to specifically defined, evaluated and audited non-profit projects that focus on reducing global emissions of CO2, turning players’ progress into direct emission reductions.

Gameplay:
Real-world weather for in-game success
Users start the game by purchasing a pack of seeds (“Zeedz”). This initial purchase and every following in-game purchase spent on caretaking automatically turns into a direct financial contribution to an environment-focused project in the Zeedz project pool. These projects are chosen by votes of (1) an appointed Board of Sustainability consisting of scientists, non-profit actors and activists, and (2) the Zeedz community, each with a weight of 50%. These votes are casted in a transparent fashion and regular intervals using secure and fault-proof blockchain technology.

User can then plant their Zeed into a location on the real-world map. This way, gameplay and environmental purpose are interweaved right from the start: Different Zeedz need different weather conditions, so players have to do thorough research with in-game educational resources to learn about the specialities of the earth’s climate zones, if they want their Zeed to eventually hatch into a plant-inspired creature (“Zeedle”). These educational items are automatically pushed to the users and always contain actionable tips to help reduce global emissions at an individual level.

After hatching, a Zeedle can grow into manifold kinds of shapes, depending on the progressing weather conditions and the according level of care a user provides.
